FEATURING
OPTIMAL PET HEALTH PROFILE
Every client of your practice receives a detailed profile of their pet’s current health, which is compared to the pet’s ideal health for its breed, age, and weight. Data collected from a 5-minute questionnaire provides information on the pet’s ancestry, behavioral characteristics, daily food requirements, exercise recommendations, ideal weight ranges, and common health conditions specific to their breed. This profile is updated regularly throughout the pet’s life, delivering key health alerts to both the client and their veterinarian, enabling proactive nutritional guidance for the pet.

WHAT PET OWNERS AND PROMINENT
PET NUTRITIONIST ARE SAYING
THE VARIETY IN PET FOOD CHOICES
There is such a massive variety in pet foods. The pet food industry is wide, diverse, and often polarized in their priorities for what constitutes the best choices for pet nutrition. As overwhelming as this is, for pet owners and pet professionals a like, it does means that there are choices to suit every individual. Afterall pets are all individuals and what suits one pet may not be the best match for another. The variety in breeds, lifestyles, ages, health conditions, and preferences of dogs, before even considering the preferences of the owners, all lead to a great number of choices when it comes to pet nutrition.
The range in pet foods does mean that individuals value different aspects when choosing their pet’s diet. For instance, some may value named ingredients, fresh foods or preparation methods, whilst others prioritize the manufacturer reputation, scientific analysis or studies conducted. There are many pet foods which are complete and balanced to deliver the nutritional minimum of AAFCO nutritional profiles, to suit every choice.
There are so many pet food options, that often you won’t recognise the brands being spoken about. Many brands do form a nutritious option, and what is chosen comes down to owner preferences, budget and individual pets. Many dogs have particular dietary requirements, whether it being digestive sensitivity, a tendency for itchy and irritated skin, or breed or age-related priorities, such as joint support. This narrows down the foods which will best suit the individual, and contain the elements which will provide the most benefit to them. On top of providing complete and balanced nutrition of course.
Vetnexus is a resource which helps to match these priorities and dietary requirements against an extensive database of foods, to suggest the optimal diet for individual pets.

Vetnexus provides a much-needed service for all dog parents. With so much information available online, and the plethora in marketing dollars spent trying to convince me to buy a certain pet food, it’s a relief to have a company I can trust and my veterinarian teaming up to provide science-backed recommendations specifically for my dog. The details provided about each dog are insightful, and the way diets are recommended tailored to a pet’s unique nutritional needs, along with a link to purchase for doorstep delivery, takes the stress out of choosing a dog food.

Over the past several months, I have been involved in testing the Vetnexus software application, convincing my dog (JAX), an early senior purebred Boxer, to be a test subject. Jax has had relatively few health issues until now. A few months ago, I noticed various week-to-week subtle changes, such as a lack of energy, and although minimal, a loss of appetite. When I completed Jax’s first Vetnexus Pet Health Profile, I read there are several health conditions peculiar to boxers and to be on the lookout for symptoms such as lack of energy and loss of appetite. This spurred me to set an appointment with Jax’s vet, wherein he was diagnosed with Cushings Disease. Although not good news, we credit Vetnexus Intelligent Pet Nutrition technology for getting me to a vet early enough so that we probably added 1-2 years on his life.
